Inside a deep release

Pulled over on the side of the road
Alone in my car
Tears streaming down my cheeks
Sadness rolling through my body
Heaviness filling my chest

Confusion, regret, despair, helplessness

I felt them all
Compiled into one moment

Wishing for it to end
Wishing I knew the way

Not alone in my life
But alone in my mind

I lived there on and off for many years

One day, home alone this moment resurfaced

The tears, the pain
But this time was different

This time I just noticed the feelings
Not wishing for it to disappear
Not adding to the story
Not trying to find the positive

I just noticed it
And allowed it to feel how it felt

Tears flowed
Snot dribbled
My body trembled

Curled up on the floor
I lay there until it needed no more

That day might have been the start of noticing for me

It took a while to recognise what really happened

But moment by moment it started to become more familiar

I could notice a thought
I could notice a feeling
And if I didn’t feed it with my attention

It didn’t build in the same way

Sometimes it faded
Sometimes it disappeared completely
Sometimes it remained

But there was space
Space to see it

To see it as a thought
To see it as a feeling

To see it wasn’t me…

Since then I have written the book
Notice it… don’t feed it
To share the concept
To share my understanding

I might have thought that was it
But to be honest
It was just the beginning

Day by day
I’m seeing more
I’m learning more

And I’ve got more to share.

Much love to you all.

Notice it… don’t feed it ❤️

(Just a silly photo to lighten the mood)
