Have You Ever Judged Yourself Out of Going Somewhere?
Have you ever looked in the mirror and talked yourself out of going somewhere?
Five minutes earlier, you felt completely fine.
Then you catch your reflection and suddenly:
"I look terrible." "I've put on weight." "I look old." "Everyone will notice." "Maybe I should stay home."
Nothing actually changed.
But something started happening inside.
A thought appeared. A feeling followed. Then the feeling seemed to confirm the thought was true.
It's a loop many of us know well.
And when you're inside it, it feels convincing.
But sometimes, it can be noticed.
Not argued with. Not believed. Not pushed away.
Just noticed.
And when that happens, something shifts.
Not because you suddenly feel confident.
Not because the thoughts disappear.
But because they stop running the whole moment.
You might still go out. You might still feel nervous.
But a passing thought no longer has to decide how you live your life.
Notice it… don't feed it.
